This is my first story by this author, and I really enjoyed it! Jack & Jenn's story is VERY fast paced (they pretty much belong to each other from the moment they meet) & there is a lot of action going on (killers! kidnappings! crazy Halloween costumes!). I love the banter between the two, that they fight but it's safe fighting (meaning they grouch at each other knowing that they're not going to say something to hurt the other one). Supporting characters are well-written & interesting, and do not take over the main story. Thumbs up!The only draw backs were the way the dual POV was handled, which in the beginning was very confusing, and wasn't really "easy" even after getting the cadence of them down. And then the editing... *sigh* I hate picking on editing, but there were quite a few issues & at various points it did take me out of the story. Once back IN the story, not a problem, but ... it bothered me enough that I needed to mention it, since I think these two things messed w/ my enjoyment just enough for this to not be a 5 star read. BUT, because I really did love the story & pacing A LOT, I'd say it's more 4.75 stars than 4, so ... *grin* I highly encourage you to give it a shot & enjoy! : ) YES! I found someone who writes likes Kristen Ashley well not just like her but that her male leads are strong, bossy alphas. When Jack is with his woman you don't disturb him, "it's after five, John, if I'm putting in overtimes on my own dime, and my woman wants to pop in for a visit, she'll effing pop in for a visit. Now excuse me while I walk her safely to her car." He's not a sharing type of man, "Jenn, had my c*** buried deep more than once in the past six hours, believe me when I say, I. Don't. Share. I'll give you this lunch since it was made before we started, but after today, I'm gonna be pi**ed as hell if you make any more." Jenn she's normally an uptight girl but get some booze in to her and she's a free spirit, "I'm drunk, and you're here and very, very hard up against me, I've got an idea." Jack ran his nose down my throat and back up to my ear." Sometimes Jack is a typical caveman, alright all the time, "woke three days in a row without you in my bed, after having you there a week. I'm too old to play games, so you're moving in with me." Jack ordered over the phone." This is an author who I', definately going to have to keep coming back too.
