Great book, glad I found it!'Trouble' (real name; Arden) is just a normal, albeit hated, witch in her small town until Luku, the chaos God, comes along and decides to inhabit her body, and now she's running from just about everything and everyone, whilst trying to stay sane and alive. This was an interesting plot and not something I'd really come across before, which is always nice. The love triangle that develops between Arden, Dev, and Kell is, well, pretty obvious, but there's a twist in that, too; Adren doesn't really want to fall in love and, as a virgin, is certainly not interested in sex. Which makes things a bit more interesting than normal, especially for play-boy Prince Kell. Overall this is well-plotted and well-written, although a little too fast-paced at times. It annoyed me that Dev constantly called Arden 'trouble', a name her abusive uncle had given her, even though Arden says multiple times she doesn't like it. All the other characters pick up on that - why can't he? I think it would have been better if he just used it when she annoyed him/got into actual trouble. The characters were also all very emotional, and extremely emotional at that. Every little think that happened reflected in their eyes, and, generally, had some physical reaction to their stomach. I understand that strong emotions to that, but sometimes it just felt like these descriptions were used too much and made it seem like every single emotional moment was just a little too dramatic. Probably actually 4.5 stars, but I did really enjoy it so I rounded up. And looking forward to the next one! 4.5 starsThis story was not at all what I was expecting. I suppose that is the curse of having hundreds of titles loaded on the kindle and not really knowing what any of them are about; unless of course you read them the moment you acquire them. When I began this book, I expected a typical romance. Quite frankly, within the first few pages I was bored out of my mind. But then, my persistence took over and I was determined to see this story through. This is one of those occasions when it totally paid off. If I had decided to stop, I would have missed a book filled with adventure, intrigue, magic, undead, and the smallest flame of flickering hope. I really, really enjoyed it. Some things were not perfect. But, I'm thinking that those things will most likely be resolved in the additional two novels in the series; which, by the way, I will definitely be reading at some point in the future.
What do You think about A Soul For Trouble (2012)?
Wow! This book is amazing! I could not stop reading it once I began.
