Pasta AmoreNach einer Enttäuschung geht die junge Lia eine Weile in das Herkunftsland ihrer Eltern, nach Italien. Dort entdeckt sie ihre Leidenschaft für das Kochen. Zurück in Chicago eröffnet sie das Restaurant „La Arietta“, das nach einem Jahr schon sehr erfolgreich ist. Doch Sorgen macht sich Lia wegen des Mietvertrages, der nämlich läuft in Kürze ab und die Verlängerung ist unklar. Als ihre Mutter sie bittet für eine Freundin und deren Familie zu kochen, ist das für Lia eine willkommene Ablenkung. Bei dieser Gelegenheit lernt sie mehrere der Kelly-Söhne kennen. Sollte ihre Mutter da etwas im Schilde geführt haben, könnte das von Erfolg gekrönt sein, denn Adam Kelly beeindruckt Lia mächtig.Eine sympathische Geschichte mit Protagonisten, die man sofort gern haben muss. Lia, die als Köchin am Anfang ihrer Karriere steht, hat ihrem Restaurant lange Zeit alles untergeordnet. So langsam läuft es allerdings und da ist es kein Wunder, dass sie Adam nicht unbedingt widerstehen will. Und auch für Adam, der nach dem Tod seines Vaters die Leitung des Immobiliengeschäftes übernommen hat, ist die Situation ähnlich. Lia rührt sein Herz an. Schon beim Lesen der ersten Sätze kann man sich ausmalen, wie die Geschichte ausgehen wird. Dennoch folgt man den Protagonisten gerne auf dem Weg zueinander, der doch mit einigen Hindernissen gespickt ist. Herz und Sex in gerade der richtigen Mischung, unterhaltsam und stimmungsvoll. Eine leichte Sommerlektüre, die ein gutes Gefühl hinterlässt. Und klar handelt es sich um den Teil einer Serie. This is cute, although the ending could have been more fulfilling.Story of Lia and Adam, the oldest of the 7 Kelly brothers, about whom this series is written, and all named alphabetically -- Adam, Ben, Caleb, Dan, Ethan, Frank and Gideon. Lia owns the hottest new local restaurant in Chicago. Their mothers know each other and arranged for Chef Lia to cook for some of the Kellys. Sparks fly between Lia and Adam, and even though neither has time to date, they agree to make the time for each other.... until the next day when they learn that Adam owns the property where the restaurant is located and he's planning on kicking the current leaseholder out for a new restaurant, until he realizes that the current leaseholder is Lia.This is a romance, but it's how they navigate business versus pleasure that's kind of interesting... and again, had they actually talked things out rather than make assumptions... but then that's kinda the way this author moved the plot along... this could have been handled differently to earn it more stars.The ending leaves me hanging a bit... so I hope we see more of their relationship in the subsequent books.
