A Valentine's Surprise is a short novella, approximately 60 pages. It is the story of police officer Adam and nurse Amanda. Adam is injured in the line of duty and Amanda is the nurse assigned to him while being treated for his injuries. Over their time together they form an intimate bond and it continues after he leaves the hospital.I definitely liked the writing of this book. It was smart and no overuse of romantic cliches even though it was a romance novel. The one love scene was well done and I didn't cringe like some other novels. The story was overall a little bland for my taste, but I will be picking up the second book. I loved this short story of Adam and Amanda. Adam the local cop was hit by a bullet and rushed to the hospital. Upon coming to he looked into the sweetest eyes he had ever seen and found his Angel. Amanda 25 year old virgin who has never dated was overcome with joy by having handsome Adam as her patient. They both seemed to enjoy one another's company pretty well. Who knew you could find love in a hospital bed. This book is a great short read. Perfect for that rainy day.
