I am making my way through this shifter series and this is my favourite so far. The series is good if you like a variety of shifters. The stories are simple with plenty of battles between goodies and baddies, supported by witty banter. They are not what i would describe as incredibly gripping but they are pleasurable and entertaining reads. Definitely good to read in between longer books. This story is a short story focused on valentines day and Shane. It introduces some new shifters and also touches base with some familiar faces. I liked this one because it introduces the spider shifter which I have been racing to read about. The one thing I really like about this series is the seamless way new characters are introduced and the way in which the older characters continue to be involved and develop. If you like bite size shifter stories this is definitely a series to follow. Ok yes I know I am more than lightly gonna be one of the few if not the only that give this a 1 star rating. But really where is my Shane? Its like this book is about somebody completely different! In this story not only does he talk about **shudder** his feelings he is actually happy to take on a little girl and be a daddy!! oh oh and he is gonna go to counselling! WTH?? I loved psychopath Shane he was my favourite character from this series! He stood out among all the others. Now he is just one in a long line of sappy one dimensional characters!And yes I know I love all the other sappy character as well but I loved Shane more for being different! I'm sorry for being mean the writing was its usual lovely self and the pace of the story was fine but I feel kinna sad about the demise of Shane!
Short but oh so sweet. Good to see a few new characters getting introduced.
