A View To A Thrill (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

I have loved the Masters and Mercenaries series and the seventh book, A View to a Thrill did not disappoint. The romance has been building in previous books since the introduction of Chelsea to the series with Simon. Chelsea whom is broken physically and mentally needs the support of her sister but has to start letting go now that she has married Ian Taggart. Simon a noble from birth whose upbringing between his family in Britain and his American relatives in Texas have left emotional scars not feeling like he belongs fully to either family. Previous books made Chelsea seem rather devoid of emotions for anyone but her sister Charlotte. And Simon although dangerous looked rather uptight and always the proper gentleman. Both characters had walls, issues and hurdles they had to face to see there was more in common between the two of them than they thought.Simon was the first to realize that Chelsea and he had more in common that she would ever admit. Both characters were determined to believe that neither was good enough for the other. Both couldn't be more wrong. Chelsea is stronger than she thinks and Simon helps prove that to her as well as that she is more than just The Broker. Simon had a difficult journey with Chelsea for every one step forward he made Chelsea retreated two steps back trying to remain safe behind the barriers she erected. Simon has his own issues of not realizing he has more love in his life not only from his family at the agency of McKay and Taggart but also his blood relatives. Once Simon is able to prove to Chelsea she is worth his love and patience he has provided then Chelsea has to prove her love to Simon and show him he is worthy of love too.You get to learn more about Jesse Murdoch and how he is evolving, as well as see a return of Tennessee Smith and our introduction as well as Ian Taggart's introduction to TWO NEW HUNKY TAGGARTS! How will Ian handle the news of two new brothers while trying to assist Simon and Chelsea evade and battle The Collective.Lexi Blake also created an epilogue that had me salivating for more and anticipating the release of Jesse Murdoch's book in February of 2015. THE WAIT IS GOING TO KILL ME! As said by the wonderful character Veruca Salt in the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory; "I want it all, I want it now, Give it to me..." This book did not disappoint and left me wanting more like any fabulous author should Unfortunately I slightly disliked both hero and heroine. He was a bit too "English" for me, with his suites and ties. She was whiny and a bit boring. He was a bit boring, too.So they were right for each other! ;)The story is good but the villain, well, I didn't like him so much because he was bit stupid (IMO). I plan however to go on reading LB, even if this story is not so great.
