Incredibly naive writing throughout. Odd use of language, slang and sudden gaining of knowledge for the two main characters who had supposedly been so sheltered for so long. The addition of 'super powers' was even more bizarre.The underlying issue of infertility was very interesting and should have been explored more in the first instalment. I won't be bothering to read the next books either. Far too light and fluffy.EDIT: Ah yes, "Amazon Bestseller". Another self published book that desperately needs a talented editor. This book has a lot of problems. Olivia is unlikable, unless you think an immature 18 year-old-girl with entitlement issues does it for you. Normally I like a character with a bit of spunk, but Olivia is just annoying. And Joshua just goes along with everything she wants. There are also disturbing inconsistencies. Also, it seems that Olivia and Josh often find resolution to problems too easily. Their characters are never required to stretch because they aren't left to suffer for any length of time. Olivia is arrested and then broken out that evening without incident. Olivia and Josh escape Genesis through the tunnel and all works out. Haven starts to get a bit difficult and it is invaded - leaving Olivia and Josh to escape in a solar powered vehicle. Olivia and Josh are hungry and they find an older couple willing to take them in and teach them how to find food in the wild. Blah, blah, blah. Over and over a quick resolution always presents itself. However, I feel that the plot has potential. And for that reason (and also the fact that I already purchased the second and third books) I plan to continue reading the trilogy.
