Not that it's bad writing, it was just not my type of book, in tone. This seemed like a light, fluffy romance novel with some paranormal elements that shape the plot. I'd started hearing so much about these books, and tantalizingly could never find them in stores, so I pounced on this one as soon as I did find it. I was probably in between Sookie Stackhouse book releases, hoping this would be similar and tide me over. But these are very far from the Charlaine Harris series's tone. No real horror or suspense elements, no symbolism representing any deeper social commentary. The tone reminded me more of the Vicki Lewis Thompson Nerd series of books, from back in the day. If you find something like Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark books too harsh, too dark, but really want some paranormal element in your romance books, then this is probably a great series for that. If you'd liked the characters developed in the earlier volumes, I suppose it is nice how they re-appear in this one, helping to show the new girls the ropes. Like I've said before this series keeps getting better. I loved the characters like before though there are still some things about this series that I don't like. Near the begining of this book when Casey's sister & friends take Casey home and they're about to tell her about them being werewolves/vampire/werevamps, it really frustrated me how long it took for the to spit it out which I guess its okay since it helps you relate to Casey. Another thing that kinda annoys me is how everyone (Wanda, Marty, Casey, and Nina) are always telling each other to shut up but then they start bitching at each other again, threatening to beat each other up and such, then tell each other to shut up again. Its a little repeatitive and just makes me want yank their tongues out. But other than that I do like this book as well as the other books I've read, and look forward to the next one.
What do You think about Accidentally Demonic (2010)?
Must say that it was surprisingly good, I liked how she displayed the supernatural.
