I like a good free and quick romance like the best of them but this one was quite a pleasant surprise. So pleasant that I immediately one clicked it's sequel, Forever Jack and the Novella short to follow in Mistletoe and Hollywood. Great job Natasha Boyd!!Jack Eversea....Yes that JACK EVERSEA...Hollywood heart throb , infamous for his good looks and his on screen and off screen relationship with starlet Audrey Lane, rode his motorcycle right into "small town" South Carolina and right into Keri Ann Butler's life. Keri Ann was not having fun. She had put her life and her dreams on hold to make sure her brother Joey was able to finish med school and to keep her historical family home.... it was all she had left of her family. So, she put her art and schooling on hold and worked as a waitress to make ends meet. It was in the restaurant where she meets ( actually for the second time in a day) this mysterious hood-wearing man...yup, you guessed it ...Jack. Jack decided it was time to escape the life he was coming to hate in Hollywood and lay low away from the paparazzi...Audrey Lane did not turn out to be the person he thought she was, and that's putting it mildly. The only problem was he was so recognizable he couldn't leave the home he was staying in to buy supplies. In comes the reason to befriend Keri Ann and enlist her help, it didn't hurt that he found her beautiful and a force to be reckoned with. This is the start of what turns out to be a beautiful friendship that turns quickly to something more. But will the real world come crashing into their paradise? Is this happiness short-lived? Well, you guessed it and by the end of Eversea we see their relationship get put to the test. Forever Jack , (Book 2), has Keri Ann and Jack finding their way out of the mess they were left in in Book 1 . Thank god I didn't have to wait for this book because I would have pulled my hair out. In Forever Jack, we find out more what Jack has been up to while away from Keri Ann. (WTF!!) We see Keri Ann trying to put her life back in order and figure out where her heart belongs. We see two people going through the motions of life but not really living it ...yet.Jack has a chance here to keep Keri Ann and her reputation safe but is it worth what he has to give up for it? Is there a way back to her? Jack has grown so much and now we see the real star shine. I love a story where you can actually feel the growth of a character and these two have definitely changed since they first laid eyes, and other things, on each other. Their hot romance has become a deep love that we hope can survive all the pressure of a very public life, but is love enough?A sweet surprise to me was finding Mistletoe and Hollywood. ( There are two separate short stories in this book by two different authors ). My Star, My Love by Natasha Boyd, is basically an epilogue to the series in a short story. It takes us to England for Christmas and cements in my mind that Jack is a true romantic and Keri Ann is one lucky girl!!! I loved it as I did this entire series. I hope to see more of these two in futures stories ..hint hint...maybe Jazz and Joey could use a book or two!!! Jack is getting away from the eyes of the world but he never dreams of running into Keri Ann and not being able to stay away from her. Keri Ann never expects to be spending time with the Actor who plays her favorite character from the books that she read back in eighth grade. They start by Keri Ann keeping Jack's secret and her buying his groceries so that he can stay out of the public eye. They start falling for each other and are always together But then Jack's ex finds him and drops a bombshell that blows their worlds apart.
