Alice Nel Paese Delle Meraviglie - Attraverso Lo Specchio (1901) - Plot & Excerpts
What can I say about Alice that has never been said before? Likely nothing at all! I just adore Alice, never mind the interpretations of Carroll being on drugs or what have you, never mind seeking a deeper meaning. To enjoy Alice the most take it at face value.A little girl's adventures in dreamland. I read this book to my daughter at bedtime! She is one and already hearing the classics!Just enjoy Alice. That's the best way, overthinking it takes away its imagination and whimsy. Curiouser and curiouser, this book has a mix of everything, well almost. Action, fantasy, fiction...and so on. The poems are fascinating, and the words absorb me into the text. Interesting plot and I think that this might count as a modern classic. This book doesn't make much sense but you I just knew where it was going. I don't like that about books but Lewis Carrol has done this wonderfully, his way with weaving words into sentences is something I admire and I hope to use some of his examples and probably use it lke a symbol for my book for a metaphor. Many people have heard of this right? When I read this book, I wish that I could be in the story and that I could meet all the characters, especially the chesire cat, the mad hatter and the little doormouse, I'm not sure that this book is for everyone, which disappoints me because I absolutely love this book and I used to fell like I belonged there everyday. It was my fantasy home and I have read easy versions, watched both disney and Tim Burton (OMG I LOVE TIM BURTON) movie versions of this book. Quotes from this book are my favorite, I used to say them all the time. "You're entirely bonkers, but I'll tell you a secret; all the best people are" The chesire cat is the ultimate troll, but I'm not sure thats a positive skill to learn... :D
What do You think about Alice Nel Paese Delle Meraviglie - Attraverso Lo Specchio (1901)?
Christopher Plummer does a fantastic job bringing these classic stories to life. I'd quite forgotten just how much fun these stories are. I originally thought I'd listen to them with my five-year-old, but having previewed them, I don't think he'll enjoy them just yet. But once I started down the rabbit hole, I ended up listening to both Wonderland and Looking Glass over the course of a week's commuting. Plenty of amusing queens, beheadings, growing and shrinking, and wacky conversations. Highly enjoyable. I look forward to listening to this again when my son is a bit older and more able to follow the wordplay.
