I've liked Leo Timmers' past books such as Who is Driving? I like the illustrations in this book as well. All the animals busy out and about remind me of Richard Scary in brighter colors. The story itself (not by Leo)is what I call an ing story, meaning most of the words end in ing, describing something going on in the pictures for the reader to find. This book also offers many good opportunities for counting from the books turtle drops, apples mole eats, items lined up in rows nice and neat and caution cones. I enjoyed the book.3.5 starstoddler preschool Great book for reading with kids, or, you can let them read it alone as there is so much on each page to wander over. Great use of color and the art style is hard to dislike.On a final note, I found that this could be a great book for parents to use as a tool for their kids to get them used to what a town is, who populates it, and what kind of buildings are in your average "town." Then, going to see them in real life, it's not so scary, or actually really exciting.4/5MH
