He's never afraid to say what he thinks animals are thinking. When I first found the book I thought it would be mostly about his eagle. He and his wife share their home with a pet squirrel who gets up to all kinds of funny things. Many other animals such as bears are also involved. I was slightly irritated by the way he often will say wild ones instead of wild animals. Throughout the book, I could really tell he deeply cares about the welfare of animals. This book is amazing! I love the relationship between Freedom and Guidry. It is a book about "wild ones' and how they live in our tough world. I was tearful at times and giggling at times. Jeff takes you through his battle with cancer and the loss of friends. His message is to let nature be and live in harmony which is not often done is this fast paced world of technology. Thank you Jeff and Freedom!
