Charlotte and Alex 's story...... So short review..... A pleasant read. Charlotte finally returns to England after 5 long years away believing that leaving Alex t he alter was the only way to protect him and her family from a huge scandal ;expecting to find her twin sister gravely ill, but finds her sister in wonderful health. Still stunned the last person she expects to see so soon is Alex, a very cold and angry Alex.The story takes you through a few twist and turns and a suprise twist near the end . It is rare that you have two leading characters that have both been wronged and your heart goes out to both. Alex and Charlotte are meant to be, there is no two ways about it but she hurt him by trying to protect him. Leaving him at the alter, disappearing for years with no communication and returning with a child does not put her high on his list. One of the most telling scenes for me was between James and Alex, it showed how much she hurt him. But it also showed how her decision effects not only them but her family/ his friends. Add in a secret or two, a male friend from America, a Duke with misguided view, a child whose looks crack frigid hearts, chemistry years has not dimmed and you have Heir of Deception! It truly is an a wonderfully written book! Can't wait for Lucas and Katie's story!!
