Lektionen Der Leidenschaft: Roman (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

The book started off good. I even enjoyed the hostile fighting between Thomas and Amelia. Then Amelia started to seriously make me regret reading this book, her annoying, self-served, bitter, childish behavior and attitude almost ruined the book for me. I loved Thomas at first, up until he took Amelia virginity and then started to throw in in her face..sure she probably deserved his resentment, but what he was doing as a man was just cold-hearted. Then my opinion of Thomas and Amelia both just got worse toward the end of the book... I mean this guys is coming and going out of her bedchamber like he's her "man" and yet she never confronts him about his intentions..how much lack of self-respect can this girl have... I mean she has some serious daddy issues...and to top it off, for Christmas he basically turned her into a "Mistress" without her even knowing it... he gives her a nice necklace but no damn ring...and this chick is happier than a kitten with a bowl of milk...I was about done with the both of them at this point. The ending was kind of ridiculous to me and the book really wasn't worth the full 28 chapters...Now for the positives, I loved the analogies the author used through out the book...they were hilarious. I also enjoyed the dinner with Mrs. Roland and her daughter... that scene was funny. This book had everything I need for a great romance. I loved everything about it. I loved love/hate relationship between the two main character. My heart welled up for Amelia because I know her personality. The personality that hides her true self way in a locked closet because of past hurts. I loved her character and at times wanted to ring Thomas's neck for her. I love the scenery and yet it was overwhelming. There was perfect balance incorporating the imagery into the storyline. I still have one image of Thomas sitting on Amelia's desk with one leg up and the other foot planted on the ground. That simple imagery flowed through the whole book. I read it in two days. I couldn't stop wanting to know what would happen between the two characters. Very lovable story.
