I read this book first before reading anything else from the series, because this was recommended to me when I was looking for a book about a shifter that found his mate when the mate was young. So I read it on its own. I have since read the preceding books from the series and admit that had I read this after the other (in chronological order) I would have given it a rating of 3 stars or more. However I dont feel like re-reading it, so the 2 star rating will stand.Wyatt has been a favorite character. He was SO DAMN ADORABLE as a kid and I loved that he got his HEA. I've been reading this series for a while, but I'm kinda disappointed with it. I saw assassins and shifters and thought "now that should be interesting and full of suspense," but it's not. Most of these books are about shifters finding their mates, or supposedly badass guys finding the love of their lives. There's barely any action. I feel like every time something seems to happen, it ends or is resolved really fast. I don't know if it's the way I read but none of the events are described in detail, especially the background of the characters. To me all characters seem the same because I can't really get a feel of their personalities. What I also don't understand is how Mateo and Riley have been together for 10 years or so (maybe a bit less, I didn't keep track) and still haven't gotten a child together when they have been planning to do so since they decided to get married.
What do You think about An Ignited Passion (2012)?
This one had some better plot twists and denouement compared to the others I liked it.
