Now, in the first book, I believe I said that I wasn't quite sure what to think of Heller, the main character. I have to say that I have got a solid picture of her in this book, I can picture her and it is realistic enough for me.The story line is well-developed, plot well though through, style consistent throughout the end of the story, everything is great. However (yea, there is a however), the reason for my three stars instead of four is this: The only thread linking all five books is Heller's mysterious fighting abilities and all of her other ju-ju, the only mystery that is supposed to compel you to continue reading. I admit that the title 'The Black Sun's Daughter' is enough to keep me intrigued and continue reading. But what I am trying to say is, it is not strong enough. This book feels like a novel rather than a series and there isn't a strong motivation to continue reading.I am going to continue reading though, just to find out who is 'The Black Sun'. I am also pretty sure quite a number of people will read this book for that reason as well. Now I am starting to wonder if that was the author's aim...This is all my opinion. Story is still consistently good. Characters are just not growing on me at all. And the characters I did like act so childish I can't even stand it. Some of the instances were highly predictable. Questions that were obvious took forever to be answered. Even though the reader is screaming at the book "I ALREADY KNOW".I do like the authors writing save for the dumb flourishes here and there. You seem to get those in every book. And when your going to have a fight to the death and you take up your weapon why on God's green earth would you be thinking how beautiful or angelic you look or feel. WHAT! Who has a thought like that come upon them when impending doom is about to crush you??& don't even get me started on the endless pool of money the character seems to have access too and of course she never charges for her services. Never mind that character blow through money like Nicholas Cage on a bender.
What do You think about Anges Noirs (2012)?
Un très bon tome. Ds la lignée du premier. Personnages convaincant et attachant.
