I curled into him, naked, my ass nestled in the cradle of his hips, his arm draped protectively over me. I was his. No question about that now. When I really thought about it, the whole thing was almost something out of a storybook, or history book—a girl being sold by her father, to serve another man in his office, and in his bed. To be treated like I was property...there was something strange and old-fashioned about it, and it should have made the bratty side of me come out. But to be honest, there was something so deeply peaceful and relaxing about knowing that I was owned. Do all women feel this way? Is this what all women secretly want? I doubted it, but it felt right to me. It didn’t matter to me how it began, or at least it didn’t feel like it mattered right now. The way Mr. Banks loved me...it was forbidden and powerful and pushed away any objection that happened to float across my thoughts.
