This is chick lit at its best. Emily is in her 30's and has matured into a responsible and focused adult, working in a high-powered job in finance and engaged to a surgeon. She has convinced herself that she is nothing like the carefree girl in her early 20's who fell madly in love with and married the handsome bad boy she met in college. A colorful cast of characters make this laugh-out loud funny and thoroughly enjoyable. This was fun, sweet, chick lit. It has a pretty typical love triangle. Ellen is about to marry Grant, when her ex-husband Ryan shows up. The nice thing about this book is that both Grant and Ryan are likable. There's no obvious "you should be with him" feeling, which makes a nice change!I also liked the supporting characters, especially Ellen's mom Georgia (who sort of grows on you), Grant's mom Bev (likewise), Grant's "bad girl" sister Melanie, and Ellen's friends Summer and Caroline. It looks like Kendrick's next book will be about Summer, which should be fun!

A nice and quick easy read...sometimes just need to read something light and sweet.

Cute, predictable. Loved the references to knitting and Buffy

3 1/2 Stars. Not too bad, decent weekend/beach read.
