LOVED this book! This book started where the first book ended - Meg is pregnant and she knows it is Johnny's baby, even though it could be her boyfriend's Christian's baby (who by the way is Johnny's best friend that she rebounded with when Johnny brushed her off). The story follows Meg through her break up with Christian once the truth comes out about it being Johnny's baby and not his, and follows her flourishing relationship afterwards to Johnny, and his acceptance of being a father to their son. This two book series (third book will be released in November) was absolutely wonderful! While the content of the book was a bit of a fantasy (mid twenties woman gets a dream job -by accident- as a PA for a Rock Star that she falls in love with), there was no cheesiness. It was a well thought out book, done very realistically. Johnny (the Rock God) didn't fall hard for Meg (aka NutMeg)in the beginning, and treated her like he did his other women. And because of this, she always questioned what she meant to him - was she just another notch in his belt, or was she special. Paige Toon had me loving the characters, the plot, and the slow development of their special friendship/relationship. I would have to say, this two book series ranks in my top 3 favorite Rock Star genre books. Cannot wait till the third book is released! [*May contain spoilers if you haven't read Johnny Be Good*]At the end of Johnny Be Good we are left with our heroine, Meg, pregnant and not sure who the father is - her lovely boyfriend Christian or his best friend Johnny Jefferson, rock god, hellraiser, addict and thief of Meg's heart (even if she won't admit it to herself). At the beginning of Baby Be Mine we all know who Barney's father is because he's the spitting image of Johnny and one by one everyone is working it out. Except Christian. Meg and Christian live a seemingly idyllic life in the French Pyranees. Idyllic except for the guilt that is tearing Meg apart. After a trip to Barcelona with her best friend Bess, who has worked out Barney's paternity without being told, Meg realises she has to tell both Christian and Johnny the truth. Revealing her secret destroys everything she had, but will the pieces eventually put themselves back together? Can Meg and Barney ever live a normal life again? And how will Johnny Jefferson and his wildchild girlfriend Dana react to parenthood? After loving Johnny Be Good I wasn't sure how I would feel about the sequel. Could it be as good? Knowing what I knew about Meg and Johnny's relationship would it be as gripping? The answer is an all around YES! I loved this even more than Book 1 and if you don't at the very least feel a little bit squidgy inside at the end you have a heart of stone!
What do You think about Baby Be Mine (2011)?
Love it, even though I kindof new the end, still it surprised me.
