This was the only one amongst the first three released novels of Anuja that I had not read. Impressed by the previous read "Those Pricey Thakur Girls" , I picked up this one as I wanted to read something light. The news that this is soon to be adapted to a movie starring Sonam Kapoor and Fawaad Khan aroused further enthusiasm to read. May be the expectations grew too much, or may be I read her previous novel recently enough leading to the comparisons, this could not evoke that loud laughs from me as was during "Those...", but yes did manage to get good deal of smiles. The novel is an entertaining read and I finished it in (sort of ) one go (with little breaks in between). But as I mentioned, may be I read it very close to another of her novel so her writing style felt like a little bit of repetition. Overall a good read if you are planning on something to lighten your mood. Well its a battle ..second book from Ms. Chauhan's shelf ..post the "those pricey thakur girls'.. am left wondering wich one was better.. Battle for Bittora has all the staple chick-lit ingredients..yet very refreshing in all ways.. a completely charmer of a hero and an attractive leading lady (make that 2..counting the grandmother too!)..old connect..falling in love..a lot of confusion.. all set between a 'vote for me' lok sabha elections backdrop..an amazing roller coaster ride till the end..with loads of humor and twists..well like they say everything is fair in love & war & elections!! definitely a bollywood script in the making..
Contemporary language, modern storyline, and witty to boot. What's not to like!
