Bearing It All (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Two questions arise from this book and the first in the series, To Catch a Wolf. Why do hyenas scratch all the time? They can't be anymore flea bitten then the wolves, foxes, and etc. Why does Jamie, the were-vampire bat, sneeze all the time? The h giggles, gets drunk & talks to herself whiling FORGETTING that her friend is there visiting. (How dumb do you have to be to forget you have company sitting on the coach next to you?!?) The H really isn't any better, he, knowingly, works for the guy that killed his brother. WTH is up with that? “I won’t let him get away with what he did to you. Not for a second. The first chance I have...” After working for the guy for years you'd think that the no so smart bad guy would have given the H a chance. :-/ If someone killed a family member would you go to that person if you needed money? He fought because he “Didn’t have a choice. It’s the one job where flipping out and destroying people every day is a good thing." Um, how about not flipping out? Maybe try to be a decent Were/human being? His "leathery" voice and scent are mentioned several times. What, exactly, is a leathery voice? There's a number of missteps in the storyline too, like it was edited badly..maybe(?). When she goes to the fight she has good enough sight to see the hairs going through the were-crocs necklace links but just moments later she can't see what the H's tattoo designs are. They start a convo about the missing girls, acting like it was common knowledge and that they had talked about it before when up to that point the only time it had been mentioned was in a talk between Erik & Jamie. Top it all with how wishy washy the h is, she wants him, she can't do that, she wants him, she worries he doesn't want her, anything she does with him is a "lapse", etc.Were-bears are my favorite Were books, I love when I find them. I was really looking forward to this one and I was sadly disappointed. Really hoping that the next in the series, Bare With Me, is better. My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!The cover is sexy and awesome! It totally grabs my attention as a shifter lovin’ reader :)This was such a fun and foxy read :) Violet is quirky, fun, and sassy. She is also quite hyper and has a thing for big bears. You definitely get an idea of all of her bad dates. You will love her date with Eustace…lol Her friend Henry is an awesome friend who is always trying to help her out. Crag, what a name, sort of made him sound like a caveman. I totally fell in love with him and his back story.I was totally entertained with this story :) I definitely laughed out loud and thoroughly enjoyed with whole story :) There is plenty of action with fights, potions, zombies, and so much more. Lynn’s writing and humor in this story worked wonderfully together. I have to go back and read book 1 because I want to read Erik’s story too!! The amusing part is I didn’t even realize that I already bought it…I’m such a book addict :) So look for that review in the future. And you can definitely read this story without having read book 1 yet because I didn’t feel like I was missing anything key except wanting to know more about Erik and Izzy :)I recommend this story to my shifter lovin’ friends who want an entertaining action packed story with some humor mixed in.
