Loved this book and its concept. It's part of a series, but can easily stand alone as its own story. DJ is an admirable character who has a lot of inspiring qualities. His grandfather's final request takes him on a journey that teaches him many valuable lessons about himself and life. I am hoping to be able to use this book as part of a classroom novel. I love that a lot of boys would enjoy this book. DJ is a self-assured teenager, used to being in control and taking charge of any situation. When his grandfather dies, his world is rocked by the loss. What he doesn't realize though is that his death is more than what it seems. Before his grandfather died, he set some goals for his remaining grandsons. When the lawyer reads out the will, the seven boys are all given tasks to complete. DJ's task is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to spread his ashes.DJ's first thought, "Easy. I'll climb up, back down and be home within a couple of days to help my brother and cousins with their tasks." The journey is far more than he ever anticipated though and the lessons he learns along the way remind him that we are never alone.A good, inspiring Canadian YA fiction that was a nominated for a Red Maple award in the 2014 Forest of Reading program.

Definitely an engaging read. It is in the top three of my favorites in this series.
