I'm not gonna lie, I was scared to read this book because I was firmly Team Kellan after book one. I won't say I've switched teams but this novella gave me a whole new appreciation for Jonah. In fact, I hope we get to see more of the guy's POV as the series goes on.This is mostly a retelling of book one, A Matter of Fate but a lot of the story is left out. Instead we deal with key scenes important to our new narrator, Jonah. If you read book one, you definitely need to read this, preferable before moving into book two as Jonah gives us more backstory on he and his brother. The writing style is the same, of course. Well written and well developed. Having Jonah's POV adds a lot to the story and will help us understand more of what he will be going through as the series continues. Imagine thinking one thing all your life and believing that the person in your dreams - the girl in your dreams , who you had known all your life was imaginary and that you were crazy only to discover one day that you weren't crazy and that in fact she is real. Jonah and his twin brother are not only surfers but they are Magics known as Emotionals. Both destined for great things, Jonah in the council and Kel as part of the Guides. Jonah has heard of people having connections and thought that you could only ever have one and he has that with his brother , but what happens when he discovers through a seer visit that he has in fact two which is very rare and Chloe who he thought was imaginary is in fact very real indeed. Jonah and his family move and Jonah discovers that Chloe - his Chloe attends the same school , but what will happen when the girl he has loved all his life ends up falling and dating Jonah's twin brother Kel ? Can Kel and Chloe fight fate and end up together or will fate be stronger and push Jonah and Chloe together which will leave a rift between brothers ? When it comes to the crunch = who will each one pick if they can only have one or the other ?
