I read this a while ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. But I think I need to refresh my memory (I have sad sad memory skills). This sounds like a good candidate to revisit as an audiotape!OK, so I listened to the audio, and despite the reader's mediocre at best job, the story was even better a second time. The reader not only can't do accents, she can't do more than a couple character voices without sounding worse than a Muppet. But all that aside, I am looking forward to the next book in the series, especially after reading the blurb and listening to the epilogue. Although I think I will read it if the same reader does the audio...Really liked the characters, well not 'liked' but they were all interesting and I want to learn more about them. I am intrigued with the mystery which isn't usual with paranormal books imho. Usually the mystery is too predictable to even be a 'mystery'. The writing is witty and the heroine's integrity isn't compromised to further the plot. Adam is a wonderful hero too. Alpha, yet tender. The misunderstandings that come from her world meeting his are entertaining and not debilitating to the growth of their love. I really like the characters and world in this book. The book itself has a LOT of story with very little romance interaction between the main characters for at least the first half of the book. I actually feel the romance was mostly an afterthought, even when it was the main point of the climax. That being said the rest of the story and the male characters definitely kept me involved, and I'm looking forward to the next book. This book is definitely an introduction to the shifter world Jessie Lane has created, and there is a lot of explanation of that world. Hopefully with the next book we get more character story interaction.
