My review is sort of in two parts: The writing and the story. Overall, I would have given this two stars but the writing is very good so I gave it three. And I hate to not give an author credit for that. Beautifully written. But I had a really hard time with the story. I liked Slade and Joslyn enough to want to know their story, but they didn't get together until 300 pages in. She spent most of the book hanging out with his half brother (who Slade hates) and Slade hung out with his ex-wife and step daughter. They were hardly ever together. And I liked them but didn't love them. She seemed standoffish and uptight and although I know he was supposed to be the strong and silent type, I just never saw the appeal other than he was gorgeous and the Sheriff. And a super polite good 'ol boy. Again, beautiful writing, just not a story for me. I do plan on trying the next in the series though to see if those characters have a little more to offer.
What do You think about Big Sky Country (2012)?
I don't know that I've read any of this author's other books.

The end felt a little rushed but I always enjoy her books.
