I read the book from chapter 1 -14 and listened to rest on audio. The ending was rather abrupt and I found myself hoping for a sequel. This book was not what I was expecting at all. Instead of having a lot of mob action, it was all about Anya trying to just get through her school year, just trying to keep her family safe. I didn't think it was a bad book, I didn't think it was great, either. Let's see what I think of the second in the trilogy... I read so many good reviews for this book and from reading the caption this seemed like something I would really love, but it was a flop for me. Maybe it just didn't translate well as an audiobook? Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance...I think I got about half way. It was just slow, the main character didn't intrigue me much, and her boyfriend was dry. I found the details of high school tedious and the world building lacking. Should I have kept going? Is there an amazing turn of events? Does the plot thicken or pick up speed? What is it that I'm missing? I'll give it another try if someone can convince me to, otherwise I'm moving on. I don't have time to spare on books that I'm not loving.
What do You think about Bitterzart (2013)?
This book was okay. I found it cheesy at times and very far-fetched.

Enjoyable but the voice bothered me at times.
