3 1/2 I see why all the love. Nice heroine, human without uber powers, rare yes, but still purely human in her weaknesses. I am probably one of the few readers who's actually happy she's not going back to her ex. I wonder what went wrong along the 5 book series. Many friends have DNF it, some readers like Julia and Abigail from ATUF stopped reading just before the ending, at book 4. I guess I'll see. Very enjoyable and much less of a basic chick-rom that I suspected it would be when I picked it up.The main character is likeable and the situations believable within the terms and references of the story. Many similar books suffer from lack of believability in that one cannot see anything sensible keeping the main romantic couple apart, I get very impatient with the characters in those cases and often the story loses momentum as result. In Blue Diablo, one really can see the point of view of the main lady. Corine makes no pretence of disliking her ex, Chance, the reasons she is ambivalent are the reasons of a strong person and that gives the whole book a solid grounding for all the supernatural hijinks. I liked the supernatural component, it left enough to the imagination and did not get so bound up in itself as to detract from the mystery or suspense. The secondary characters were all good too; the characterisations were deft and allowed one to see the character clearly without overdoing the descriptive element. All in all an enjoyable read. I hope to find the next in the series somewhere.
What do You think about Blue Diablo (2009)?
Not as good ass the Sirantha Jax series.
