Roni said, grabbing her attention before she blew right by. Elizabeth stopped and turned to face Corbin’s assistant. A smile stretched across Roni’s lips. “Yes, Roni,” Elizabeth replied. She couldn’t quite figure out the look of sheer happiness that was written all over Roni’s face. “Mr. Dorsey called down from executive about thirty minutes ago,” she said with a smile. Now, Elizabeth understood. John Dorsey could get any woman to wear a ridiculously silly grin by simply saying his name. “He said his Town Car will pick you up at four-thirty downstairs.” “What?” Elizabeth sputtered. So much for being discreet. Though she loved Roni to death, she did tend to be a gossiper. Within the first week of working at Advantage, Roni had supplied Elizabeth with the dirt on everyone in the department and beyond. “It’s already four-thirty, Liz,” Roni continued. “I suggest you hurry. You don’t want to keep a man like that waiting on you too long.” Roni winked at her. Oh God! Elizabeth turned on her heels and walked quickly down the short hallway to her office. She did a quick check of her email before turning off her computer, grabbing her purse and ducking out the back stairs to get down to the first floor. No reason to give Roni, or anyone else for that matter, more reason to gossip.
