Well...I'm still a Soul Coughing fan, thankfully. I wasn't sure that I would be after reading this book especially since they all hate each other. I saw them open for DMB at one of the Garden shows Doughty talks about. The very next day, I went out and bought Ruby Vroom. I'd never heard anything like it bfore and I loved it. Even though he's clean now, Doughty's writing is a bit manic like he's still high. He's had an interesting life so far and he's been to some incredible places. I won't be so foolish as to ever hope for a SC reunion but I thank Doughty for those three great albums and wish him the best. Just in case you were wavering about that decision not to become a feckless and raging heroin addict comes this pithy affirmation that you made the right call after all. I love his use of Big Words, which far too few memoirists on this side of the Atlantic seem comfortable with. Bring em on!. I looked up as many as 7 which made it all worthwhile even after having to read a digest of horrific one night stands. This is just the kind of guy that I fall for hence my recent interest in joining a convent.
Great book but really should be listened to as well. Mike is a great narrator to his own story.
