More lovely Andrew Kaufman nonsense. He's fast becoming one of my favourites. Not as good as The Waterproof Bible (which is excellent), but still thoroughly enjoyable characters.A quotation: "But at this moment it became clear to her that the only thing powerful enough to transform people into brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, is the ability to forgive each other. That what really gets handed down from generation to generation isn't blood or history, but the will to forgive." I've been thinking about how to rate this book for a few days and I'm still not 100% sure what to say. The story and characters are still with me in great detail, a sign of a well written book. And I liked some of the characters, especially Angie. But it left me feeling sad, that something so well meant could have such unforeseen consequences. Would I recommend this book, probably but only to someone who i don't mind disagreeing with me!
