Title: Boy and BotAuthor/Illustrator: Ame Dyckman/Dan YaccarinoISBN: 978-0375867569Date of Publication: April 10, 2012Review: This was an adorable story. The illustrations were very simple, but still beautiful and very cute. The story itself is also fantastic as the characters switch roles halfway through the plot seemingly unexpectedly! I had to read this book twice because I liked it so much. I also love the simplicity of the storyline, as the boy's name is Boy and the robots name is Bot. Nothing fancy, just a great story accompanied by great illustrations. This is a fun book for pre-K to 2nd grade. This is a story of how a boy and robot meet, but while they are playing Bot accidently gets switched off and Boy tries everything he knows to make him better. Then when Boy goes to bed and Bot is turned back on it is Bot's turn to try to make Boy better. I would have the students tell me how what the Boy did for Bot compare and contrasts to what Bot did for Boy and then ask them if there is any other ideas of what Bot and Boy could have tried.Dyckman, A., & Yaccarino, D.
