He still couldn’t believe that she had done this for him, and she said that there was more. He wondered, not for the first time, whose house it was. Every time he thought about asking, he got distracted by trying to keep up with the conversation with Alexis’ siblings. In the past, this entire scenario would’ve sent him into a tailspin that would’ve taken days to get out of. However, being around Alexis was calming for him, and he realized that he didn’t feel overwhelmed in the slightest. Sometimes he had a hard time keeping up with their rapid fire conversation, but they would just laugh and apologize for talking so fast. Greer turned as he heard the door opening to the porch. He figured it was Hailey waking up from her nap, but when he saw who it was, his mouth dropped open. There was no way. He was not seeing what he thought he was seeing. Greer looked over at Alexis, who had stood up, her eyes fixed on him. He looked back at the woman that came out of the door and was now hugging Alexis and her mom.
