Well, this was ok. I don't really like my story book bad guy to be so blatantly bad, unless it fits some sort of fairytale like quality. I like a few random redeeming qualities, or an epic lack of self awareness to make them more realistic, but it felt like a cartoon character of a relationship baddy. Also- for one of the protagonists to have put up w/ that sort of behavior for 15 years smacks me with a blank face- I mean really- 15 years?. The two characters are obviously guys in their thirties if they are decade and a half past college, but this read more like a college age situation. Or their reaction to it. The bed hopping in the beginning and the random paranoid mind games towards the end. I don't think I'll re-read this, but I'm not steamed that I wasted time to read it. More like I took a nap and can't remember what I dreamed about, type of irritated. I dont know why I put off reading this book for so long! Maybe it was the name... Im not sure, but I could kick myself! It was so good! Great love story, great ending, nice character development... I cant say enough good things! Christian is drowning his sorrows. His boyfriend Andrew dumped him to get back together with his ex-wife Lexie. The best way to cope? Get totally sauced. Who happens to walk in while said activity is occurring, none other than his ex's best friend Trip. Trip is actually very nice to him, maybe even flirting a little? So when Chris offers Trip his other ticket to Italy (Andrew sure as heck wont be going) Trip accepts. The two of them have sexual chemistry right from the start. What begins as mindless shagging, soon becomes something more intense and meaningful. Trip and Chris have the best time they have ever had while in Italy. They travel for 3 weeks, enjoying each other and relaxing. Soon they both begin to wonder whats going to happen when they get back to London? What if Andrew apologizes, will they forgive him? So many questions to answer... and feelings to consider... This story has great character development. I really enjoyed both Heroes and I wanted them to end up together. There is a ton of great sex in this story, and its also very tender and emotional. I read this so quickly because I just had to find out what happens to Trip and Christian in the end. I highly recommend this book and I will definitely read it again. xo
What do You think about Brindisi Bedfellows (2007)?
I loved the way the characters interacted. Very human. Very real. Sex scenes were hot, great book.
