This book was nice, also if some of the things werent like i hoped for, still nothing bad happened like rape or cheat.Aleron is a thief that had been sent to the prison on that planet he is now, pratically a death sentence since here they're mining something that kills the himans. The first person he meets, when arrives there and trying to find the way to the center of the prison,is Jasak the lead of the guards.Starting that moment something is growing btw them, and after you'll understand they fell in love. Jasak had a mate before going to the prison, but for his honour and as penitence about killing some ppl, also if these had killed Jasak's brothers,he confessed those crimes, also knowing he'd need to leave his mate forever, and he was sure he would never be happy, but then Aleron arrived, and he'll understand that the bonds he has now with this humans is stronger than the one he had with his former mate. The days pass and the two start to understand they are in love. When Jasak claims Aleron has his mate to protect him from the other guards,he understands that he did that thing also for other reasons. Aleron his an human, and is not naive or inexperienced, he also had other partners, but no one had hit him like Jakas'presence had done, the alien that could easly kill him, was always gentle and cared for him also when having sex.A lot of thing happen, and you see jealousy, love, honour, friendhip, betrayal and much more but one scene made me happy. In the end of the book Rosany the doctor working in the prison and Jasak's friend, confesses to him a plan to leave the prison, and the other man asks to the doctor for help,to take his human mate out of that hell and keep him safe. Rosany's friends will take Aleron with Jasak's help and take him with them on their space ship, the human thinks that Jasak will be going with them, but is not like that, and when he understands that Jasak is not coming back to him on another ship,he is so brave to convince the others to go back and help him rescue Jasak who is trying to detroy the prison.I liked this scene bcs on start u see Aleron trying to find escape from the prison non caring about anyone, but then he and Jasak become intimate and his reasoning changes and you see how much he loves the other man.The book last scene is nice with them on a planet in a sunny day and both of them on the grass becoming mates for real, with a ritual. This book wasnt one of the best i read and probably i wouldnt even read it again, but was not bad. Aleron the thief is dumped onto Planet Tantoret where he'll likely die due to poisoning from the Chojal he'll be mining. Jasak is the Athaki prison leader. This is a bleak and violent story although the relationship between the two provides a break from the grit. It's an interesting story, but ultimately a bit too crazy to really love. There are some random characters thrown in at the end and it just seemed to get a bit out of control.
What do You think about Outcast Mine (2011)?
I really wanted to like this book but it just didn't do it for me. It's 5 chapters too long.
