The fictional book Burn for Burn, the first book in the series, is about three completely different girls Lillia, Kat, and Mary. The author wrote the book from each girls point of view. Lillia is the popular and sweet cheerleader. Mary is more of the loner type of girl. Kat does not listen to the rules or put up with anything she does not like. Mary used to live on Jar Island until she felt completely dejected and tried to commit suicide because of the bullying. Now she has returned for a new start and to find closure after what had happened. Kat was enjoying her summer with Alex who she started to develop feelings for. Then school started and Alex completely ignored Kat since he was popular and she was not. Lillia was a cheerleader who was excited to start school. Everything was normal until one day in the bathroom the girls all bumped into each other. They came up with a plan top get revenge on the people that hurt them. Kat wanted revenge on Alex for blowing her off the second summer ended. Lillia wanted revenge on Rennie, who was her best friend, because she was rude and judgmental. Mary wanted revenge on Reeve, the star quarterback of their team, for constantly degrading her self esteem until she tried to commit suicide. They kept their distance from each other during school but after they began plotting and putting their plans to action. It was all going okay until prom night came along. Their plan went south almost immediately after it began. Some people get hurt and even in the hospital. All the students had to evacuate the school. One of the girls also figures out something different that could completely change everything. I would recommend this book to teenagers because their is some use of bad language. I would say this is a contemporary YA book. I've been reading fantasy YA so its good to read something contemporary once in awhile and this book is just something different and its good.I like how this book is being told from 3 different perspectives (Mary, Kat & Lillia).. You can distinguish them from how different they are from each other but still at the same time the are facing the much of the same dilemma. And what I like most about the whole plot is that its unexpected.. I cant wait to start Fire with Fire...

2.5, i guess. This book was like.. one big cliche. I don't know if I'll keep reading the series.
