The book Butterface is about a girl named Beth who haas scars on her face but they are not as deep as the ones that hurt her mentally. A boy named Lucky O’Leary starts to find the true beauty in Beth. But the small bump is that Lucky has a secret, Lucky has to bring Beth to a "dog dinner" or else he will loose his spot on the team. The only problem is that Beth cant find out that Lucky is only using Beth to win the contest and who ever brings the ugliest girl wins the contest. It's so-so.the story is quite short but enough to make me think and smile.though their love story is really fast-paced, I guess I just have to accept that it's just the way it is.I like Lucky and how he loved Beth despite her physical imperfections. it's funny how he stupidly realized she's a girl when she wore a tanktop. I like Beth too and how she tried to fight her inner scars. I was amazed at how she stood up for herself during the Dog Dinner.the moral I've learned? people will truly fall in love with you because of the way you bring yourself and show it off to the world even though you've got your own inner demons to fight. it's not just the physical feature that matters. it's what's inside that really counts.
it was a short book, that I felt was hurried. Could have had more depth to it given the topic
