“May I help you?” “Dr. Peter Jackson?” Love asked. “Yes.” “I’m Detective Love and this is Detective Randle. We’re from the Richmond PD,” Arthur Love partially lied. He thought it was best that he say Andre Randle was a Richmond police officer rather than Norfolk PD. He retrieved his wallet and flashed his badge at who he believed to be the doctor. “Oh yes, I’m sorry, please excuse me,” Dr. Jackson apologized. The truth was ever since the incident with Baby and Treacherous he was leery of all new faces. The fact that they were black and in plain clothes didn’t help the matter either. He was still bothered by the fact that he had escaped becoming a statistic and made it out of the ghetto through education and serving his country, only to have what he came from come to his front door. He took a more thorough look at Randle and Love. “Either of you serve?” he asked. “Only law enforcement,” Love answered. Randle followed up with a head nod. Dr. Jackson believed the two men were actual police officers.
