Catching The Bad Guy (Book Two) (Janet Maple Series) (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I loved this book! I enjoyed the first one in the series, but I found this one even better, more mature work from the author. I think Marie Astor managed to increase the tension very effectively by having Janet's ex-boyfriend as their boss who was watching over them suspiciously and kept an eye on both Janet and Dennis very closely. They really had to be careful with their actions.I think the background information was necessary for readers who weren't familiar with the first book, and I liked the side characters too. I think the characters of Laskin, Aileen, Ham were great too, you couldn't help empathising with them. I'm looking forward to starting the 3rd book in the series. Women in these kind of stories always interest me. That explains my obsession with the Nancy Drew series since I was 10. Janet Maple has a strong but not overrated personality, which I really like. She's motivated, she's smart, she's pretty and she also has a thing for solving mysteries. To those complaining about the subtle romance in the first book, I've read two books and I still think that she can run the show with or without a leading man.
What do You think about Catching The Bad Guy (Book Two) (Janet Maple Series) (2013)?
I purchased this book as part of the Dangerous Attraction Romantic Suspense Boxed Set/Anthology.
