Chaos Walking Collection 3 Book Set (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
I really loved The Knife Of Never Letting Go; I thought Todd was a great character, and loved the way that the text stretched across the pages to reflect the "Noise" that the characters heard. After buying The Ask and The Answer, I was a little disappointed to see that the narrative split between two characters (because I had loved Todd as a narrator), so when I read Monsters of Men and saw the narrative was split between three characters, I was even more disappointed.I still think these books were very good, but I did not enjoy the second and third book as much as I had loved the first. The Knife Of Never Letting Go gripped me throughout, but I found I only really got into The Ask and The Answer half way through, and Monsters of Men three quarters of the way through. The books were still great - I finished them all - and the third book delivered a jaw dropping moment that the other two didn't, but I feel like if there was a fourth book, I'd be unlikely to read it.So overall, a good series, but not the most consistent I've read Readers be warned: If you do not enjoy becoming so emotionally attached to your characters that you feel yourself growing with them, and laughing with them and painfully crying with them then turn away now. This was an amazing series, for anyone craving an interesting SCI-FI. I mean, the entire basis of the novel kinda makes you stop and at least check the first couple paages. No women. Just guys. Your every thought is heard, even the dog's. Then one of the guys FINDS A GIRL IN A FREAKIN SWAP AND ALL CHAOS OCCURS.Really, this series was the whole package for me. The comedy was well-placed and well-appreciated. The dog, Manchee, is just the best. Since we can hear what he is thinking, dialog like "Ball, Tod. Tod...poop, Tod." Made me think "umm what...haha."The characters, Tod and Viola were brave in their battle against the other men in the village. As the series went on, THEY ACTUAL DEVELOPED AND CHANGED PERFECTLY. I absolutely love when fictional characters become so real that you actually notice their maturation. If you are a die-hard romantic this really won't be your thing. The books feature a heartfelt friendship that strengthens as the tale wears on. Though ***SPOILER*** there is a kiss.I loved these books, and I strongly recommend.

I am on the 3rd book and can't put to down. Great dystopian read, almost on par with Hunger Games!
