Choosing To SEE (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

I had heard of the Chapman's through Steven's music. I love biographies but because I knew of the tragic accident, I put off reading it for several months. When my family went through its own loss recently, I decided to go ahead and read it. Some might say it isn't very well written. But I appreciate that it is almost like reading Mary Beth's diary. The thoughts are her thoughts as she was going through life's difficulties not some polished piece of literature meant to impress. I appreciate that the book is written as if she were here in the room with me telling her story hoping that it will help others who are struggling with life as she was. I read this book all in one day...TODAY. I already knew the story of the loss. I am so impressed that Mrs. Chapman was able to be so honest about her grief. I'm exhausted because I feel like I breezed into that grief with her.I really appreciated the chance to see that EVERYONE: rich, poor, popular, anonymous--we all bounce around the 5 stages of grief.Even better, we Christians hold fast to Jesus, the One who died to save us.All in all, this book is an easy read and was nearly impossible to put down. Many thanks to the Chapmans for opening their lives to readers.
