Ciao For Now, Crazy European Chick (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Perry's Killer Playlist is the sequel to Au Revoir Crazy European Chick; and gives the reader just as crazy of a ride as its predecessor. This time Inchworm is given a European tour; and Perry decides to just pop in and check if Gobi is around at a bar they mentioned they might meet up in......and when she is.....all hell breaks loose. This is a nonstop thrill ride and I can't believe neither have been optioned for movies....but it's ok, the movie I saw in my head was AMAZING! I can't say too much or I'll give away everything, but go read both books......it's worth it, and they are VERY fast reads. While I didn't like this one as much as the first, the writing and the characters still just jumped off the page. The whole premise is still exciting and definitely a non-stop action book. It also just felt so different to me - the fact that the secret spy is a woman, the Inchworm band angle, Perry's outward normality. It all just drew me in and made this book another enjoyable read - one that I went through way too fast! I would love to read another one in the series and keep following their adventures. I also really loved the twist in this one...(won't ruin it!). All in all, Perry as a character is a great narrator and his observations are absolutely spot-on - hilarious and real (kind of a down-to-earth twist on being caught up with James Bond). These are really fun reads and, while this one wasn't as good as the first, it was a really enjoyable read.
