Alhamdulillah. Just finished reading this and it took me about 5 days (yes I know these are busy times for us students).Written by the pair, Dr Farhan Hadi and Ustazah Fatimah Syarha, the book combines the journey of a man and a woman towards their marriage through their separate perspectives. The husband-to-be's part is presented first with short-lengthed chapters depicting the man's experiences riddled with trials leading up to his marriage to a matching woman, whose strength of character in the face of temptations and challenges was laid out in long chapters in the second part of the book. The book is like a simplified compilation of the rules in Islam regarding the indescribable innate feeling that comes at some point into everyone's lives, the feeling we call love, presented as a 'love story' centered around two youths. How the characters go about their lives may seem a bit ideal but it gives a kind of standard, a 'cinta high class' to strive for while acknowledging the reality of life. Apart from the joy of seeing how the pair's lives turn out to be, there is much knowledge to be gained and lessons to be learned from their personal and other people's experiences. That is the true point of this book and I believe it has been written well to realize that. May Allah reward them.This book is written in Malay and the authors neither confirm or deny the characters' experiences were their own. But that is not the point of it anyway.Pick it up. You may find the book to be cliché but not terribly so that it becomes unbearable. I myself prefer not to read love/romance-themed novels but I don't regret reading this one (the book's not mine anyway). I hope you would gain some benefits from this book too. This book is AMAZING! Untuk orang yang macam saya (hard to be friendly with religious books), buku ni memang sesuai sangat sebab ianya sangat santai tapi sarat dengan nasihat dan tunjuk ajar. Banyak perkara yang boleh dipelajari daripada buku ni tentang cinta. Apa-apa cinta dalam dunia ni perlu berpaksikan cinta kerana Allah, the Almighty. A must-have-book for teenagers, adult for both boys and girls!
