I bought this thinking that I had read and enjoyed the previous title, I must have been mistaken. I was never sure if this was intended to be written in English or American. The narrative voice switched from one to the other, as did the dialogue, vocabulary and speech patterns of the characters. In places I had to stop and re-read sections because it was difficult to know which of the characters was responsible for what dialogue. Proof reading and good editing may have raised this to a 3*, and saved me from the occurrences of the abominable "off of". I think I waited too long in between reading Country Mouse (August 2013) and this. I really liked the first. It's one of a handful of books I rated 5 stars this year. I remember the crazy hot chemistry and the wittiness and fun pace it had. But this one lost that luster for me. Maybe because it was so focused on the making of the relationship. That there seamed to be a lot of drama and unnecessary insecurities. Owen seamed almost to perfect and Malcolm to stubborn and set in his ways. I wish I would of read these closer together, I think I lost the connection between these two guys I really did love.
Sweet and perfect, just like Owen. Makes me also want to curl up contentedly and fall asleep.
