Codex Constantijn (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Had enough of this author's personal fantasy in writing. It would have been more fun if there was an ounce of imagination, suspense, or character development. I would have had more fun opening the door when solicitors try to convert me to Christianity without asking which side of the aisle I was on. My goodness even a Sunday sermon at church is less obvious. Super eye-roller 5000. Struggling through the book but the convenience and tidiness of this novel is heart wrenching. So far not sure what the story is about. The codex or Muslim/Christian relations. I want to scream "pick a story already".Super slanted info dump. Chapter 9 and still no codex. But I have been thoroughly informed of how much better the world would have been if Christians conquered the East. Also the crusades were justified, except for the Venetian planned in hell. I am not half way through the book yet, but I have a feeling that in the upcoming chapters the Spanish Inquisition and the Salem witch hunts will be justified cleansing a according to the characters in this book. Why Am I Reading It? 1. Simple, I really have nothing better to read right now. Okay I do but I haven't the time to get then on my e-devises. 2. OCD about finishing what I start. With painful results. 3. I kinda want to know what happens. This is an audio reading or I would have skimmed the book. After some God approved lovemaking by the main character and his wife, I am praying to God that I don't have to listen to the debate. Prayer answered by the skip button. Although he denounces his writings in his books, Paul Maier is somewhat of a Lutheran Dan Brown. He is a wealth of historical and biblical knowledge. This book provides a nice Muslim/Christian debate and interesting background and text on the history of the bible while keeping a nice mystery feel. His dialogue lacks a bit and he shouldn't take up romance writing anytime soon, but it was a fun read.

What do You think about Codex Constantijn (2012)?

It's full of religious history and has some adventure, good read but not a great read.
