Confessions Of An Eco-Sinner: Tracking Down The Sources Of My Stuff (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
This book is choc-a-bloc full of facts yet reads like a novel! Never normally one to chose to read non-fiction this was a pleasant surprise. The book was incredibly informative on the benefits and conflicts of manufacture be it for cotton and clothes or computer mice. Not only did this book expand my geographical mind it also aided other subjects such as history and religious studies. The book, although hard to pick up at first, was just as hard to put down whilst being extremely relatable yet personal. An interesting journey of discovery about the supply chain that provides and deals with many first world products - from food, to electronics, to energy to waste. An eye opener as to just how global our society, or rather, our economy, really is these days. Told with a lot of human interest angles - not just looking at ecological sustainability but social and human sustainability. Also very well written with a light but engaging tone and a hint of optimism.

Awesome... very thought provoking...not fluff like some other enviro books I have read of late.
