So apparently graduation speeches are being turned into small hardcover novels with cool design elements- I read "Make Good Art" by Neil Gaiman and Chip Kidd earlier this year, and JK Rowling is coming out with one soon. I have to say, I like it. This graduation speech is about taking time and effort to be more kind- because not only is there not enough kindness in the world, but because your greatest regrets usually have to do with not being kind enough in your life. Basically a good message for all, and it's such a quick read. Basically a nice inspirational message for all. Good inspirational read. I got this from the library and will read it again a few times before returning it. I'm hoping there's an audio version...some good humorous points and ideas. I've sat through a few recent college graduations and this would have been a good commencement speech to sit through. The subtitle is "Some Thoughts on Kindness" so it was going to be a good book no matter what... because kindness is always appropriate (my mantra).
Saunders is just the best. I'd love to see some essays and creative non-fiction from him.
