3.5 stars It was a good story, I enjoyed Bennett and Phillipa and the monkey. At times there were too many references to the adventures he's been on.. but he's an adventurer so... It didn't make me too long to read but didn't grip me as much as I would have hoped. I did like the fact that Bennett wasn't really civilized and he was a fun character sometimes. I am starting the 2nd in the series. I found I am interested in the Duke of Sommerset... Hope he gets a story! this book is difficult to review because in the end I was slightly disappointed in it because it seemed lifeless. I was really looking forward to read another book by Suzanne Enoch, but this was nothing like the previous books (Lessons in Love) I read.we have two complicated characters - one gentleman who does not really care what other people say and is more than rude at the beginning, and I really got annoyed with him because he was a hot-head and lost all rational thought.and a lady who says about herself that she is only good for being the second choice. I really had a problem with the side characters as well because who wants to read about a family who says that they love you but are also of the opinion that you are just second choice.the story was nice but especially in the second half I was not really so interested in this anymore. even in the end, when the villain is brought into the story and acts his part was my curiosity reallly roused.the developments between the main characters was nice but not really sweet or hot. and the sexual tension or developements were not really .... interesting.one characters stood out: the duke of Sommerset. I hope he has or will get his book because he seems to be an interesting person.

Couldn't really attach to the characters... nor tell why they were attached to each other.

Slow start, but once the two main characters are interacting it moves right along.
