The four stars, to me, are for enjoyment of the narrative. The protagonist and first person story-teller contributes humor and personality. He is somewhat self deprecating and invariably silly. This story is pure romance, some familial conflicts, but that seems part of the romantic tension. A charming "Lawyers in Love" tale; the two characters are compassionate and caring. Feelings develop quickly and deeply which may elude realism; however, that is the joy of fiction. Certainly a story to read when you need something bright. The author delivers characters who communicate an existence of kindness and good among human beings. Did I mention it is also funny? I love the Home Series, these are just lovable characters. They have their ups and downs but Cardeno knows how to deliver a HEA story with that happy feeling. This time was Micah and Ben.Poor Ben, has been in so deep in the closet for so long he is having serious issues finding his way out.And Micah, oh how I adore you! Finally having Ben and Noah talk about their issues and being there for each other was good. The whole parents coming around, it didn´t felt right. Why? Because ...what about Noah? I haven´t read all the books in the series so I am hoping we get to see how that relationship works out.It doesn´t seem fair that because Ben has a family he is somehow forgiven and all is right in the world, while Noah keeps suffering. One thing I really liked about this book, that was different from the others too, was that Ben talked to us readers, it was funny and engaging. I would recommend these books over and over again.
What do You think about Cos’è La Verità (2013)?
Loved this especially with Noah playing a bigger part and watching his relationship with Ben grow.
