What a great debut by Silla Webb, Covered in Coal was a fabulous read. The prologue was absolutely gripping and sucked me right into this story. Carly Jo left Kentucky after a breakup with Colton and a blowup with her father. She left to make a life for herself and escape from her painful past. Fast forward a few years and she's called back home. Can she make amends with her father and Colton? Colton never forgot his first love Carly Jo, now she's back and he wants to pick right back up where they left off. Except Colton has a secret that may just be a deal-breaker for Carly Jo.I liked the setting of this book, I don't think I've ever read a book that had taken place in a coal mining town. There was quite a bit of mystery in the plot and I'm really intrigued to see where this group of characters is going to end up. Of course what would a romance be with out sex? This book had some great steamy scenes and maybe even a love triangle brewing.This is not a standalone. There will be a book two as we're left with a bit of a cliffhanger. I'm very much looking forward to reading book two, can't wait to see what's going to happen. ~ Erin, 4 stars I LOVED COVERED IN COAL....
