Óculos, Aparelho E Rock 'n' Roll (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
"How to Rock" shows the real-life, real-girl conflict in relationship, friendship and the lure of power and popularity. Heroine Kacey Simon is the most popular girl in Marquette, however, new glasses, braces make her fall all the way to the dungeon. On her way back to the top, she also learn the importance of honesty, friend, and self-value is. However,I am really disappoint in the book because of excitement of the TV version. How to rock on nickelodeon is hilarious and heart warming. But the book is just let me down. Ok, so I am not eleven. But I don't think I can even recommend this one to a middle school-aged kid. Kacey is over confident, rude and somehow very popular. You know from the title alone that she will fall off the pedestal and somehow rise again, with new knowledge about qualities that count more that sassy comebacks. Besides being painfully predictable, she is surrounded by incredibly forgiving people. I'd rather read something that admits to being fantasy outright! All that said, I am sure there are many girls who would enjoy this book a lot. Our library shelves it as YA but it is for a much younger reader (characters are in sixth grade) and it was an enormous contrast to the sophisticated and subtle YA Aristotle and Dante I read back to back with this one.
What do You think about Óculos, Aparelho E Rock 'n' Roll (2012)?
Cute. Recommended for Tweens who want romance. Nothing x rated in it.
